Thabo Nodada has confirmed that Orlando Pirates were in talks with Cape Town City over his signature and he was ready to leave.
The 26-year-old featured 29 times for the Citizens last season, scoring four goals.
He was linked with a move to the Buccaneers and now confirmed that both clubs were in negotiations before talks broke down.
“I know there were discussions, but I know also there was no agreement, so it was always just discussions and nothing more,” Nodada told Kick Off.
“As a result, nothing ever came to me as sort of communication from Pirates except a chat with the chairman John Comitis.
“I think there was an interest, but it didn’t get to a point where it was intended to be, or it was put out to the public. I think there was a conversation, but that’s where it ended.
“The chairman did inform me that he was trying to make a deal, but it didn’t happen.”
Nodada, though, confirmed that he would have been keen to Orlando Stadium had both sides agreed to terms.
“I think I didn’t have a problem with the move to Pirates at all. If all parties were happy with a deal, then I would be happy,” he explains.
“So yes, I was willing to complete a move to Pirates.”
Nodada featured in the MTN8 quarter-final for City but picked up an injury that has seen him sidelines since.
