Ramovic Previews Chiefs Clash

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has previewed his side’s upcoming Nedbank Cup encounter against Kaizer Chiefs, saying they want to repeat their final victory from 2019.

Local football returns on Friday, with this year’s Nedbank Cup kicking off but Galaxy will only meet Amakhosi next week Saturday, with Ramovic saying his team looks ready for the challenge.

The German coach says Chiefs have a strong squad with good players and he is expecting a tough game but also revealed what he told his players at training on how to approach the game.

“I say to my team, or to my players, every game they have to enjoy. Because they don’t have anything to lose,” Ramovic told iDiski Times journalist Lorenz Kohler.

“It means we lose a game, it’s my fault because I’m the head coach, I’m in charge of the team. It’s my job to put the players in the right frame of mind. But if we win, it’s the credit of the team, it’s not my credit.

“So the players don’t have anything to lose. And they should just go out, enjoy the game. But in their training, it’s a lot of hard work. So, they have to improve every day. And this is what we did, and do.

“So we have to have it in our mind when we are in the training to be better than we were yesterday and this is our main task, and we improved a lot. But the main task where we will see where we are, it will be the game against Chiefs.”

The Rockets beat Chiefs 1-0 to win their first and so far only trophy in the 2019 Nedbank Cup final, and now Ramovic believes working hard could see them achieving their goals once again.

“It’s just a great example that with patience, dedication, with hard work, that you can achieve anything, and they did it, they showed it actually two years ago,” he said.

“So this means that everything when you set up some goals that you can achieve, but you have to work hard.

“You know, every team has some weakness and some of the strongest, but I would like to keep the weakness in my thoughts and let my players know. Strongest, I will say (Chiefs) they have a fantastic squad.”
