Ahead of their DStv Premiership game today against Cape Town City, Chippa United midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni says they need to take it one game at a time.
It will be the second time the two clubs meet within four days, after Chippa’s 2-1 win in the Nedbank Cup in Gqeberha on Sunday.
Sangweni feels this Chippa team, who are currently 12th on the league table, deserves to be in the top eight.
“Take it one game at a time, step by step. For now, we have to focus on the Cape Town City game, it is gonna be a tricky one,” Sangweni told Chippa’s media department.”
“We were playing them on Sunday, and now we’re playing them again on Wednesday. So we don’t have to put ourself under pressure. We just have to do what we trained. And then you know, we’ll take it from there.”
“But all in all, we have to work hard, this team deserve to be there around the top eight, you know, so we have to win, so we can play football without being under pressure, putting ourselves under pressure.”
“The supporters would love that. And the chairman would also love that. Everyone in the team would love that.”
