TS Galaxy FC left-back Ebrahim Seedat says the players must relish the opportunity to play against one of the big teams ahead of their Saturday’s Nedbank Cup match with Kaizer Chiefs.
The Mpumalanga-based club holds a good record in this competition against Amakhosi, as they memorably shocked them with a 1-0 win in the 2019 edition’s final.
The Rockets face the Nedbank Cup favourites in the round of 32 on Saturday, and the defender is confident they can manage to upset the Soweto giants once again.
“In general, I think we are ready, we have prepared well, so far. We know Kaiser Chiefs is a big team but at the end of the day is 11v11, anything can happen, and it won’t be bad if we win this game and go to the next round,” he told club’s media department.
“It will be good, not just for me but for the whole TS Galaxy again to win it, but I think it’s up to us if we are willing to give effort, if we give everything, comes Saturday, it will be good to get the Nedbank Cup under the belt.
“Yes, exactly, that’s the thing for me, that’s a bonus, maybe if we do win this at least we will play CAF, I think it’s important for the boys to keep the level, work hard with a coach plans this week, so we can’t wait for the encounter on Saturday.
“When you play against the team like Chiefs at the end of the day, the players don’t need motivation because it is a big team, everyone wants to show what they are capable of doing, so it’s just that everyone can’t wait for this encounter.
“The coaches never got time with us because when they came, they didn’t have time to settle their style. So at least this time they showed us their way of playing, and we are improving every day, and hopefully, it will pay off Saturday.
“Team-work, hard-work, will definitely make us win the game.”
The match is scheduled for 18:00 at FNB Stadium.
