Seema – Ncikazi Left A Good Foundation
Newly appointed Golden Arrows head coach Lehlohonolo Seema says he wants to build on the good season Arrows had in the DStv Premiership.
Seema was unveiled as Mandla Ncikazi’s successor on Monday morning.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic, Black Leopards and Chippa United coach says Ncikazi laid a good foundation at the club, and he’s not going to come in and change too many things.
“Ja, first of all, I’d like to thank the chairlady for the opportunity of allowing me to come and work in the Golden Arrows set up, and especially after the season that they have had,” Seema told the club’s media department.
“I think I must make a special mention to coach Mandla that he has really laid a good foundation, and a good group here. It’s my first day at training, and then you could see the brotherhood that is here, the solidarity that is here, players that are willing to work hard.
“And I must say coach Mandla did a good job with the technical team that I found here. I did not come with anyone. I told the chairlady that I’ll work with everyone that has been there.
“And ja, the players, for sure, you can see that, they were looking with the new coach, what is he coming up with? I told there straight that is still gonna be football, nothing much that will change, because the machine that has been moving.
“So I’m just becoming part of the group, to come and guide and be part of the technical team that has worked hard with these players here. And ja, coach Mahbuti is still here, and then Eduardo is still here, and then Tim is still here. And then you still have the supporting staff that are there, and we are looking forward to this season, to the challenge.
“And of course we told the players that look the expectations are high now, let’s see if we can even surpass what we did last season, or at least get there where we are this season, so we will start working hard and we are looking forward for the great season.”
