iDiski TV analyst Benedict Tso Vilakazi says he is convinced that Kaizer Chiefs will keep the duo of Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze in the hot seat next season.
The two former assistant coaches were entrusted with guiding the team this season after the club parted ways with Nasreddine Nabi in October 2025.
Though their ride wasn’t an easy one, they managed to get Chiefs into the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup though couldn’t progress further in the inter-club continental tournament. They have also managed to secure third position in the Betway Premiership with two matches to spare, ensuring a return to the Confed Cup next season.
Through their bumpy ride this season, people suggested Amakhosi hire a head coach with championship winning pedigree claiming the duo wasn’t the right fit for the club.
Now with their achievement, Tso says he doesn’t see Chiefs management getting rid of the two and that if anything, they have bought themselves more time in the Chiefs dugout.
“I don’t suspect it, they [Chiefs management] are going to keep them [coaches],” said Tso on iDiski TV.
“I said it before that when coach Nabi went home to see his wife, I said these two coaches as they are playing, they are winning. And as they are winning, they will say we better sit with them than have Nabi back.
“When Nabi came back, I think they played two games, drew one and lost one and that’s when Nabi left, they continued. I saw it coming. Even now they will ask themselves that if we say we need a coach these guys took us from position number nine and they put us in third position, I think we are good.
“There’s [Orlando] Pirates that’s got quality good players and they have won, two, there’s [Mamelodi] Sundowns who have quality and also doing very well. So that means we are there on the course we are not far between these two teams so let’s continue with these two coaches.
“Yes, they did well compared to what happened last season but for me they are not coaches that can carry this team further, do well and really challenge Pirates and Sundowns. I don’t think so.”
