Stellenbosch went level on points with DStv Diski Challenge leaders Orlando Pirates, while Mamelodi Sundowns closed the gap to one point.
Yet another epic weekend of DStv Diski Challenge took place, this time around in Stellenbosch at the Idas Valley Sport grounds.
The DDC festival started with the struggling AmaZulu against rising Chippa United. Usuthu began their life without Reneilwe Letsholonyane in a sour way as they suffered a 3-1 defeat.
Stellies overcame Pirates on a hot afternoon at Idas Valley. A solitary goal from Thulani Mini was enough for the Cape Winelands side to get all maximum points. Both sides are now sitting with 32 points but Pirates are top on goal difference
Polokwane City seems to have got things in order as they held defending champions SuperSport United to a goalless draw. Lamontville Golden Arrows cruised nicely in six-goal thriller against Sekhukhune United.
Sunday morning started like a house on fire as Sundowns ended their three-match winless run beating Cape Town City, scoring in the late stages of the game. Malibongwe Mkhonza and Ramotsei Keabetswa were on the scoresheet.
Two early goals against Cape Town Spurs secured maximum points for Amakhosi which moves them five points behind the table-toppers.
