Tinkler Sees Bafana Call-Up In Mashego’s Future

Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler has praised his left back Terrence Mashego, and feels that the in-form player should get in the Bafana Bafana squad soon.

Mashego has a had a great start to the 2021/2022 season, including scoring a goal in the club’s MTN8 quarter-final against AmaZulu.

Tinkler says he is a hard working player, and that has led to the good run of form.

“I think ja, a lot of hard work from Terrence to to be brutally honest,” Tinkler said in a press conference on Friday.

“Obviously I’ve come in and given him a lot of confidence and a lot of belief, and the way I want him to play as a wingback, I’ve given him a little bit more freedom.

“And he’s exploiting that to to the full potential, you know, but truthfully, it’s all about his willingness to work very, very hard in training.

“He’s always above everybody else in terms of the intensities of his games, the amount of sprints, and I’m pretty sure Terrence will be getting in that Bafana Bafana squad someday soon.”
