Percy Tau has broken his silence after his move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Al Ahly was confirmed on Thursday.
The South African winger joined the Premier League side in 2018 already but had to go on three loans to Union Saint-Gilloise, Club Brugge and RSC Anderlecht before a rule change allowed him to finally get a work permit in England.
However, he feature just six times for the club since his return to Brighton in January and has now thanked the Premier League side for offering him the opportunity to play in the Premier League.
“Thank you Brighton for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Club,” he wrote on social media.
“I’m proud of my journey and very proud of my time at Brighton. You gave me the opportunity I never imagined growing up in Witbank.
“A decision to sign me with all the complications that were in place. I’m grateful.
“I want to say more but my lack of social expression defeats me. The supporters of the Club, thank you.”
Tau has joined Egyptian giants Al Ahly where he will link up with his former coach Pitso Mosimane.
