Tso Questions Potential Chiefs Signing

With reports claiming that Pathutshedzo Nange could be set to join Kaizer Chiefs next season, Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi has questioned whether he has enough quality to improve Amakhosi.

Nange, 29, joined Stellenbosch in the beginning of the campaign when the Glamour Boys were still banned from making transfers.

However, it seems the former Bidvest Wits and Black Leopards midfielder could link up with former coach Gavin Hunt after the current campaign again.

Vilakazi, though, has cast his doubts on whether Nange is really a player who can help Chiefs to bring back the glory days.

“There have been recent reports confirming that Stellenbosch FC midfielder Pathutshedzo Nange is on his way to Kaizer Chiefs,” he writes in his iDiski Times column.

“Earlier this season, the player briefly trained with Chiefs but the club were then banned from signing any players which meant he had to move elsewhere.

“A few weeks ago, Nange scored a good header for Stellenbosch against Chiefs, but refused to celebrate the goal, which led to many people speculating as to why.

“I am concerned about this potential signing because the player is actually not a starter at Stellenbosch. iDiskiTV has covered his recent games against Chiefs and Sundowns, and in both matches he did not start.

“I do not understand why a player who is struggling at a smaller club would be signed by a big team like Kaizer Chiefs.

“What impact is he going to make a Chiefs if he cannot break through at his club at the moment? We always talk about the pressure that comes from playing for a huge club, I know it because I have been there and it is very difficult to cope with the expectations of the fans sometimes. How is Nange going to help Chiefs reclaim their glory days?”
