Motsepe Foundation Championship newbies Hope FC have appointed Clayton Daniels as their new head coach ahead of their season opener.
Daniels, 42, featured as one of the high-profile players, helping The Immortals gain promotion to the MFC after they won the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League and then the ABC Motsepe playoffs.
Last season, Dylan Deane served as the head coach, but the club which is run by Keagan Buchanan as the CEO opted to part ways with the experienced coach ahead of the new season.
Ahead of their MFC opener against AmaTuks on Saturday, Hope now confirmed Daniels as their new head coach.
“We are proud to welcome Clayton Daniels as the new Head Coach of Hope FC,” the club stated.
“As a club, we believe in giving young South African coaches the opportunity to lead, grow and make their mark. We believe Coach Daniels has the qualities, experience and ability to steer the ship as we begin this next chapter.
“We wish him nothing but success on this journey. The entire club is behind him and ready to support him every step of the way.
“One of our own, Coach Daniels.”
Hope FC have mounted an impressive transfer window, signing the likes of Miguel Timm, Samkelo Zwane and Lyle Lakay, among others.
