JDR Stars moved up to second on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, closing the gap on Milford, who dropped points again.
JDR won on Friday afternoon, albeit somewhat fortuitously, as they beat luckless Cape Town Spurs 1-0 at the Athlone Stadium. Ismael Wadi tapped in after a defensive error, as Ernst Middendorp’s team’s poor run of form continued.
Baroka also were victorious on Friday, as they picked up their fourth win of the season with a 1-0 away win over Highbury.
Milford lost at home to Casric Stars on Saturday, but remain top, one point ahead of JDR.
Upington City and Durban City drew 1-1, as did Kruger United and Orbit College, and Venda Football Club and Pretoria Callies also ended with same scoreline.
On Sunday, Hungry Lions picked up a 3-2 win over bottom-placed Leruma United, while AmaTuks won a seven-goal thriller against Black Leopards.
