Makaringe Hails Erasmus’ Mentality

Cape Town City midfielder Fortune Makaringe has hailed former teammate Kermit Erasmus’ menality, saying many can learn from the Casric Stars striker.

Erasmus, 34, joined the Motsepe Foundation Championship side in January this year, having been without a club since leaving Orlando Pirates at the end of last season.

He has nine games from the regular campaign with one goal and two matches in the on-going promotion/relegation playoffs including City and Orbit College. The three sides are currently tied on two points after two rounds of the playoffs campaign.

City and Casric played to 1-1 draw on Tuesday and have another meeting in Cape Town at the end of the month. Makaringe told iDiski Times editor Rob Delport in edition 209 of the newspaper that his former Pirates teammate is someone to learn from, especially how he manages to bounce back from set-backs.

“We all know the quality that Kermit offers,” Makaringe told IDiski Times.

“And there’s always been that guy that plays with passion and stuff. So it’s great to see, it’s another thing that we can learn, and I think most people can learn from it. You are never down and out. Kermit is an example of that – that if you’ve got it, you’ve got it!”
