George Maluleka has explained his decision to join Kruger United, and what he hopes to bring to the newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit.
Maluleka has been a free agent since leaving AmaZulu at the end of the 2023/24 campaign before joining the MFC outfit on Wednesday, having penned a one-year deal with an option to extend.
The former SuperSport United, Ajax Cape Town, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder brings a wealth of experience to a club that was only founded just over a year ago, and the 35-year-old hopes to not only contribute, but also encourage the rising players in the club.
“I think, firstly, it’s important for me to be a human being, besides the experience and everything that I come with,” Maluleka told the club’s media department.
“But these guys like you say inspiration is very key, but also contribution, just to also let them know the ins and outs of the game, and just to push them, a little bit of encouragement.
“But togetherness is what I’m here for, and just to also show them that it’s possible.
“This is where I also started, as a very young boy, looking forward to go forward in my career.
“So first I want to inspire. I want to contribute, and obviously push the guys, encourage,” ‘Mido’ further added.
