With games coming thick and fast, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has revealed why Flavio Da Silva and Ethan Chislett did not play part in their MTN8 quarterfinal clash.
Amakhosi suffered a shock 1-0 elimination at the hands of Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
Da Silva, who scored in their 3-1 Betway Premiership win over Kruger United a week ago as well as attacking midfielder Ethan Chislett were notable absentees as the Glamour Boys were sent packing out of the Wafa Wafa competition.
In his post-match presser, the French tactician said they did not want to take a risk on both players as they have three games in the next six days and would not want to risk the players getting injured.
“First thing, Silva got hurt yesterday at the training, so we were left minus one,” he said, as per his translator.
“We have three games in six days, so we prefer to be careful with him.
“The same thing for Chislett also.”
