Khanye Shares Maswanganyi Advice

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has offered Orlando Pirates midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi advise, saying the player needs to work on his positioning and not dribble in his own half.

Khanye referenced Maswanganyi’s performance in Pirates 2-0 win over Cape Town City in the MTN8 second leg semi-final in Orlando.

‘Tito’ is known for his skills, and he applied them during the game, but Khanye touched on two things he needs to work on – not dribbling in his own half and playing without the ball and help confuse the opponents when the Buccaneers are attacking.

“Internationally, Tito is going to be a problem,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.

“I like him, he’s talented make no mistake, one of best talents, he knows football. But he must fix his positioning.

“You can’t drop too much, especially when the game is open. When Pirates were leading 1-0 the game was open he was dropping and I have no problems with Tito.

“I love him, but he must fix it and that when he does this thing [dribbling], he must do it in the opponent’s half.

“He drooped too much, and I’d like to see him running behind the defence. He knows football but he can’t only play when he has the ball on his feet.

“He has to play off the ball as well, sometimes even run behind [Tshegofatso] Mabasa so that there is a third man run to confuse opponents.”
