Mngqithi – This Downs Youngster Can Make It Overseas

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi believes Kutlwano Letlhaku has all the right ingredients to big become a “big success” at Chloorkop and could also make it overseas.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been one of their standout players in the reserve league, where they fought for the title with Stellenbosch FC until the final day.

Letlhaku along with Malibongwe Khoza and Siyabonga Mabena were among those who featured in the DDC last season and were part of Sundowns’ pre-season tour of Austria, where he has seemingly impressed the new coach.

On Wednesday, he made his second appearance for the club’s senior side, coming off the bench in the 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 semi-final first leg, with Mngqithi stating he is expecting big things from the

“I can guarantee you he’s going to be one of our big revelations this season,” Mngqithi said when asked about the youngster.

“He has done exceptionally well in pre-season and he has scored some terrific goals. Very instrumental in our attacking play – strong and decisive in one against one.

“He’s got an eye for a goal and he’s also a very good passer of the ball, even in this game he played a very good pass for Themba [Zwane].

“I think that boy is a very big talent. If there is someone that’s got a realistic chance to go overseas, it’s that boy. I rate him very highly.

“Technically very smooth, very broad shoulders, he’s never scared of anything, ready to take on any challenge. I see a bright future ahead of him but he must keep his feet on the ground and stay humble.

“And we must also help him with that, because I believe if he can do that there is a very big chance that he will be a big success at Sundowns.”
