Defending champions Orlando Pirates will take on Sekhukhune United while Mamelodi Sundowns are up against Golden Arrows in the 2026 MTN8 semi-finals after the draw was conducted at FNB Stadium on Sunday night.
The Buccaneers had to wait till extra-time to narrowly beat 10-man Durban City 2-1 thanks to Ghampani Lungu’s late strike to keep their hopes of winning a fifth successive MTN8 title alive.

Mamelodi Sundowns overcame Polokwane City 3-2 after extra time in their last eight entertaining tie at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville with prodigal son Cassius Mailula striking the decisive goal to see Masandawana through.
Sunday’s third quarterfinal tie between AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United produced a pulsating seven-goal thriller. Usuthu struck first but Babina Noko rallied back before they won the tie also in extra-time thanks to Vuyo Letlapa.
The biggest upset of the weekend saw 15-time winners Kaizer Chiefs suffer a first round elimination at the hands of Golden Arrows with Khulekani Shezi scoring the only goal in the 53rd minute.
