Pule On Hunt Influence And Facing Pirates

SuperSport United winger Vincent Pule is targeting silverware with head coach Gavin Hunt and opened up on facing his former club Orlando Pirates in today’s MTN8 fixture.

Pule, 32, parted ways with Pirates after six years at the club on a mutual agreement one season into his three-year deal, to reunite with Hunt at SuperSport.

During their first stint together at the now-defunct Bidvest Wits, they won the league, Telkom Knockout and MTN8.

“Coach Gavin works hard you know, he’s a person who likes to win at all costs you know, I think as players it’s very important to get into that mentality to say we’re going to compete for everything and that’s what we’re going to do this season,” Pule said.

“I think it’s going to be an exciting season, we’re looking to compete in every competition, I hope we can win a trophy or two.”

When pressed about potential emotions, having left Pirates during the off-season and then facing them in his first game for the club, Pule brushed off the notion he would be affected walking out at eSgodini on Saturday afternoon.

“As a team, we’re ready to compete to win the game [against Orlando Pirates]. No, it’s football [it’s not a strange feeling to face Pirates], you just have to focus on what you need to do. I think the most important thing is that I’m here now and I’m excited to be here.”

The two sides meet at Orlando Stadium at 18h00.
