Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro reserved special praise for Man-of-The-Match Monnapule Saleng, saying the pacey winger is a threat when he’s in the mood.
The Bucs winger scored one and provided an assist as the holders stormed to an empthatic 3-1 win over SuperSport United at a packed-to-rafters Orlando Stadium.
The Spanish mentor was full of admiration for the 26-year-old, urging him to carry on with his impressive displays going forward.

“He play well right?,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV.
“I think he [Saleng] did a good job. He’s a permanent threat when he’s in the right mood or when he’s in the right space.
“Yeah, so happy for the boy [Saleng] one more time.
“He’s giving us a lot and hopefully he can continue,” Riveiro added.
The Bloemhof-born trickster became the first player in the club’s history to score in the top eight for three consecutive seasons (2022/23, 2023/24 and now 2024/25).
Pirates’ progression means they become the first side to book a semi-final berth in this season’s MTN8 competition and have now taken a giant leap toward defending their crown.
