SuperSport United assistant coach Andre Arendse has lauded Vincent Pule after he scored on his debut against his former club Orlando Pirates.
Pule, 32, scored to level matters at eSgodini after Olisa Ndah had scored the first goal of the 2024/25 season on the brink of half-time.

It was an industrious display from the experienced winger as he kept Thabiso Monyane on his toes and created plenty of havoc in the final third alongside the likes of Bradley Grobler – who assisted his goal.
Pule refused to celebrate out of respect for the club he spent six years with, winning three MTN8 titles and the Nedbank Cup twice before parting ways in the off-season.
“He’s a player who is helping you team any day, any day,” Arense said in the post-match press conference.
“He’s worked with Gavin and myself before, we know what he’s capable of. Despite his age he is still young.
“We’ve seen what he can do in pre-season friendlies, in different games. We’ve worked him in different positions around the team.
“He offered us a more attacking role today, firstly in wider areas, then we brought him closer to the just behind Bradley [Grobler] when Bradley was still on the field.
“And he gives you that and he’s got goals in him. My hats off to him today for being respectful after scoring against his hold club, which is the right thing to do.
“That’s just the nature of Pule and I think we’re going to have a really good season ahead of us with a player like that.”
SuperSport will now turn their attention to the start of the Betway Premiership, where they start with another tough encounter, facing defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2024/25 opener.
