Chiefs Loanees Cleared To Face Amakhosi In Nedbank Cup

Kaizer Chiefs forward Keletso Sifama and Rahim Milazi have been cleared to face the club with Casric FC in the Nedbank Cup last-16.

In a battle that could be dubbed Chiefs vs Mini Chiefs due to the Amakhosi influence within the Casric camp, it should make for a riveting spectacle between the Soweto giants and one of the emerging and exciting brands in the second tier.

“Tough one, it’s going to be an interesting one, but very good for football, I think the Nedbank Cup is giving all clubs an opportunity even in the lower divisions, talented players get to be seen and spotted by big teams,” coach Arthur Zwane said at Naturena on Thursday.

While co-owner-cum-head coach Bucs Mthombeni and assistant duo Thabo Nthethe and Paulus Masehe are the current faces of their meteoric rise at the summit of the table, former Chiefs Head of Development Sundra Govinder forms part of their impressive staff.

The current Technical Director earned plaudits for his role in their academy between 2016 and 2018 and it’s no surprise to see the likes of Kgotso Molope and loanee Sifama have been lured to the club in a bid to challenge for promotion.

iDiski Times had it confirmed from both Casric and Chiefs that Sifama and Milazi will not be blocked from facing his parent club – which Zwane reiterated is the case.

“It’s great for the country and for the league itself, so yeah it’s going to be a very difficult game for us – they are number one as we speak, so that alone tells you they are a good team, they are not there by mistake,” the Amakhosi coach continued in praise of Casric.

“People might see it as a team that’s easy to beat but no we will have to dig deep again because they have hard runners when you look at their team, very difficult to play against.

“So apart from the players we loaned to them, they are just a good team, we won’t take them for granted and we will need to show our superiority. They will play against us.”
