Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula has addressed teammate Patrick Maswanganyi breaking down to tears after his side’s loss to Cape Town City – a game where ‘Tito’ missed a crucial penalty.
The Buccaneers dropped three points in the Mother City, after Maswanganyi missed a spot-kick in the 70th minute while City’s Darwin Gonzalez scored the only goal of the match just four minutes later.

It was only Pirates’ second loss of the Betway Premiership, but they missed a chance of going top of the log, with Maswanganyi being visibly emotional after the final whistle.
But Makhaula insisted everyone can miss a penalty and Tito will give the right response on the pitch.
“Tito is always emotional when he’s playing,” he said during the Nedbank Cup draw, with Pirates paired with Richards Bay.
“He’s someone with a [big] heart, he’s not like me who is going to miss and then get over it.
“He’s still young and for me, all I can say is it’s ok.

“I think if he’s going to start you’re going to see a different Tito because he forgets about last night – a penalty is a penalty and everyone can miss a penalty.”
The Buccaneers return to action on Sunday when they will host CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League.
