Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was full of praise for winger Pule Mmodi and described him as ‘the best player on the pitch’ in their Nedbank Cup last 16 round win over Chippa United.
Mmodi was a thorn in the Chippa defense and rounded off the scoring as Amakhosi cruised into the last eight with a comfortable 3-0 scoreline at FNB Stadium.

Nabi thought the 31-year-old was incredible but not just against the Chilli Boys but his overall improvement but also noted that the Chiefs number 13 can still get better in his finishing he’s a team player that wins favourable decisions for the side and poses a threat in attack while also not neglecting defensive duties.
“Mmodi what he does on the field is incredible, it’s incredible,” said Nabi in his post-match presser.
“Sometimes maybe you look at one or two opportunities that he has missed, but he’s a winger his first attribute is to score goals, maybe he should have scored some easy opportunities that he got. But for me, he was the best player on the field.
“He’s a player that works consistently. He’s a player that poses a threat on his direct opponent all the time. Maybe you will see that all the set pieces or free kicks that he got for us. Even when we are defending, he’s a player that tracks back all the time. He works for the team.

“He works incredibly very well for the team, and we need to congratulate him for that, and we believe that he was the best player on the field, and he’s been one of the best players.”
