Mamelodi Sundowns are dominating the Nedbank Cup Team of the Week with six players, while Orlando Pirates had four and Stellenbosch FC one.
Masandawana booked their spot in this year’s final after ending Stellenbosch’s 25-match unbeaten run on Sunday.
Rulani Mokwena’s men beat Steve Barker’s side 2-1, with Thapelo Morena winning the Man of the Match award after coming off the bench for Divine Lunga.
He made the Team of the Week alongside Ronwen Williams, Khuliso Mudau, Rivaldo Coetzee, Marcelo Allende and Thembinkosi Lorch, while Iqraam Rayners made the team from Stellenbosch.
On Saturday, Pirates beat Chippa United 3-1 to book back-to-back Nedbank Cup finals. The result was inspired by a brace from Kabelo Dlamini, who claimed the Man of the Match.
KB is one of four Pirates stars alongside Tapelo Xoki, who scored his side’ third, Makhelene Makhaula and Relebohile Mofokeng.
Patrick Maswanganyi, though, who had two assists in the game didn’t make the cut.
