PSL Confirm Nedbank Final Venue

The Premier Soccer League have confirmed which stadium will host the 2024 Nedbank Cup final next month.

With the semi-final line-ups confirmed after this past weekend’s last eight fixtures, the PSL have now also confirmed that Mbombela Stadium will host the final.

The stadium hosted the quarter-final between TS Galaxy and Chippa United was played there on Sunday, with Chippa victorious.

Chippa will next host Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals, while Stellenbosch will welcome Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Mbombela Stadium last hosted the Nedbank Cup final in 2011, when Orlando Pirates were winners, beating Black Leopards to lift the trophy.

We are thrilled to bring the Nedbank Cup final back to Mbombela Stadium, a venue rich in football history, having hosted memorable matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations,” Premier Soccer League (PSL) Acting CEO Mato Madlala said in a statement.

“This is a pivotal occasion for both the PSL and our partners Nedbank as it highlights our joint dedication to expanding football’s reach and impact throughout South Africa.

“Moreover, hosting the final in Mbombela will also cater to football enthusiasts from neighbouring countries like Mozambique and Eswatini, thereby boosting tourism in the region.

“We eagerly anticipate an electrifying final that will captivate live audiences, as well as those who will tune in on Television and Radio.”
