Stellenbosch host in-form Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup last-32 clash this evening at the DHL Stadium – here’s how the two sides line up.
In couldn’t be more contrasting of fortunes for the two sides this season, with the opening day of the campaign setting the tone, when Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 2-0 in Athlone to open the league.
Since then it’s been a rather underwhelming and inconsistent season for the only representative of the Western Cape in the South African top-flight in a season that was meant to be filled with promise.
Struggling to balance the domestic and continental schedule, a domestic cup run could be a catalyst for change under new head coach Gavin Hunt – who replaced Steve Barker, who opted for a move to East Africa with Simba SC.
The former Amakhosi coach won one game, and lost two since his arrival and are up against a defensively resolute Chiefs who are chasing five wins from five since the return from the Africa Cup of Nations break.
UPDATE:
The match has been delayed to 19:30 due to a huge number of supporters still being outside the stadium, and only around 6,000 currently (18:50) being seated. The game has been declared sold out after 36,101 tickets were sold.

Stellenbosch XI: Stephens, Lebusa, Moloisane, Jooste, Kazie, Tiwane, Titus, Butsaka, Jabaar, Mthiyane, Makhubu
