Benni McCarthy has secured his first win as Kenya head coach, beating Chad 2-1 in an international friendly match.
McCarthy, who had expressed his disappointed after a goalless draw against the same opponent, saw an improved performance from his players.
Emmanuel Osoro netted the opener after 18 minutes, before David Sakwa made it 2-0 just before the break, while the visitors pulled one back via Ali Mahamat Abdraman after 60 minutes.
However, the Harambee Stars managed to bring the result over the line as McCarthy finally celebrated his first win as Kenya head coach.
So far, Kenya had drawn 3-3 with Gambia, lost 2-1 to Gabon and drawn 0-0 with Chad on Saturday before today’s victory.
