Former Chiefs Man Keeps Up Red-Hot Form In Europe

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana has continued his fine form with Romanian giants FCSB, and was named in the Team of the Week after another stellar display.

Ngezana, 26, joined the 26-times Superliga champions ahead of the 2023/24 campaign and has not looked back since passing some minor adjustment struggles in the very beginning.

However, since matchday seven, Ngezana has fatured in 17 out of 18 games of his new club, helping them to eight clean sheets.

Ngezana was once again a star performer in his side’s 3-0 win at fifth-placed Craiova, which has seen FCSB extend their lead at the top of the Superliga to 11 points.

The Amakhosi youth product made four clearances and six tackles in the match, while winning seven of his nine ground duels and six of his seven aerial duels, added to a pass accuracy of 73%.

His fine exploits saw Ngezana return to the Superliga Team of the Week for a fourth time, with his performance described as: “A debutant in European football this season, he has quickly become an undisputed starter in the best defensive line in the league. Catch the stage team for the fourth time.”
