Foster Scores, Named MOTM As Burnley Thump Luton

Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster scored the second goal and was named Man of the Match as Burnley hammered Luton Town 4-0 in the English Championship on Saturday.

Foster has steadily been working his way back into Scott Parker’s side and rewarded his selection with a goal as the Clarets moved third and within just two points of leaders Leeds United who are sitting on 76 points with the latter having played a match less.

Foster took his tally for the season to three goals and four assists in 25 matches across all competitions though the majority of his campaign has been hampered by a serious injury he sustained while on international duty.

It has been a good week for the 24-year-old Soweto-born marksman who was named in the preliminary squad by Hugo Broos for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.

South Africa currently occupies second place on the same number of points with Group C leaders Rwanda who are on seven points.
