Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart has penned a new and improved contract at Austrian Bundesliga outfit SV Ried, his agency P Management has confirmed.

His current deal runs out in June 2027, with an option to extend for a further year which is believed the club has activated.

Maart, 31, joined Ried from Chiefs in 2025 after his match-winning goal in the final guided Amakhosi to their first trophy in 10 years as they beat arch-rivals Orlando Pirates to the Nedbank Cup trophy.

In Austria, he has notched up two assists in 44 outings and his immense contribution has not gone unnoticed.

The 2026/27 campaign has seen him play all five league matches while featuring once in the ÖFB Cup (Österreichischer Fußball-Bund).

“Congratulations to Yusuf Maart for being rewarded with a well deserved improved contract by

They currently sit in ninth place after five matches with four points, 16 behind league leaders LASK.

Ried are up against second-placed Salzburg in their next league fixture on Friday, 11 September.
