Mailula Scores In 8-1 Hammering

Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Cassius Mailula has scored his second goal for Toronto FC in the early hours of the morning.

Mailula, 22, had a tough start to life in the Major League Soccer and has even been sent to Toronto’s Reserves recently to get more game-time.

However, he has had game-time in all Canadian Championship games with the first team and scored his second goal on Wednesday morning.

Mailula was on the scoresheet in an 8-1 hammering of Saint-Laurent, scoring his side’s fourth goal in the quarter-final second leg, as Toronto advanced 11-1 on aggregate.

The former Downs forward featured for the whole 90 minutes, as he continues to shine in the Canadian Championship.

Toronto are the record champions of the tournament, lifting the trophy eight times but their last title was in 2020.
