Mokwena On Ittihad Progress After Third Straight Win

Al Ittihad SC head coach Rulani Mokwena says his side are improving after their third straight win since he took over although there is still a lot to work on.

Mokwena has had a dream start at Al Ittihad where they have won three matches in a row under his leadership. The streak includes a win that secured a place in the Last Eight of Libyan Cup.

After 14 games, Al Ittihad find themselves top of the Libyan Premier League, Group 2 with 38 points and without losing a game. Speaking last night after their 2-0 win away from home against Al Tersana, Mokwena explained that his team is improving but nothing comes without hard work.

“The team is improving, we are improving, we are working hard but we still have a lot of work to do,” Mokwena told the media in Libya.

“We have to keep this mentality, we have to keep this approach to football and to life.”

With almost every player getting a chance under Mokwena’s leadership, he explained that all the players at the club deserve to play for Al Ittihad SC.

“Everyone is important, they’re playing for Al Ittihad because they are good and because they deserve to be here, no one is doing them any favors is because they deserve it.”
