Ngezana Named In Team Of The Season

Kaizer Chiefs youth product Siyabonga Ngezana has been rewarded for his outstanding campaign in Romania after being named in the official Superliga Team of the Season.

Ngezana, 26, joined FCSB in July for a fee of €600,000 (just over R12 million) from Chiefs. The former Amakhosi defender recently won his first league title and helped FCSB end a nine-year league drought.

The Romanian giants will compete in the UEFA Champions League first round playoffs next season and see if they can make it to the group stage.

Ngezana played a huge role in the club’s success in 2023/24. After some initial struggles and short period of adjustment, the tall defender cemented his place in FCSB’s starting XI after the injury to Vlad Chiriches and never looked back.

Overall, he’s made 31 appearances for his new club during which FCSB and kept 15 clean sheets. With 23 of his appearances coming in the Superliga, Ngezana has been named in the official Team of the Season.
