Ngezana Opens Up FCSB Move & Other Interest

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana has explained why he joined 26-time Romanian champions FCSB, and opened up about interest from other clubs.

Ngezana, 25, was unveiled by the Romanian giants on Sunday after finally being able to travel to Europe following a small wait due to his visa.

However, he has now linked up with his new club and teammates, who are currently on a pre-season camp in the Netherlands.

The towering defender signed a four-year deal with FCSB and admitted the interest from Europe took him by surprise.

“It caught me as a surprise,” he told FCSB tv.

“I was happy, I told my family that there is an interest from the team from Romania. We followed the history of the team, I discussed the deal with my agent and I said yes, why not.”

As previously reported by iDiski Times, Ngezana also confirmed that he had an offer from Moldovian side FK Sheriff Tiraspol.

“I had some offer Sheriff but we ended up signing with Bucarest and I think this is the best decision that I took,” he added.

“It’s a big team in Romania, it plays in a highly competitive league, it plays in the Europa Conference League. That’s the reason why I took this decision.”

The club also confirmed that Ngezana will wear the Nr.30 shirt at his new club.
