Pitso Mosimane and Esteghlal FC were held to a goalless draw in the AFC Champions League on Monday evening.
Esteghlal entered the game with one win and three defeats in the Asian version of the CAF Champions League, but only managed to collect one point against Pakhator.
The Uzbekistan side had lost four out of their last five games, but were able to collect a draw in Iran.
The result leaves Mosimane’s side in sixth place, with four points from five games, while Pakhator have three points from as many games.
At the top of the log is Mosimane’s former side Al Ahli, who have collected 15 points from five matches.
They are followed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, who have 13 points from five games.
The top eight teams from the Western region as well as the top eight sides from the Eastern region all qualify for the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League.
Overall, Mosimane has won one out of five games since taking charge of Esteghlal, drawing one and losing three.
