Pitso Lands New Striker

Pitso Mosimane’s new side Abha Football Club have again enterred the transfer market and added experienced striker Luka Djordjevic to their squad.

Djordjevic, 29, was last playing for Sochi in the Russia Premier Liga, scoring two goals in 14 appearances last season.

Mosimane was keen to add another striker to his squad, and he was understood to try and lure Stellenbosch FC striker Iqraam Rayners to his new club but the move never materialised.

Instead, Djordjevic has now joined Abha on a free transfer on a contract until the end of the season.

Djordjevic played for clubs Zenit St. Petersburg, FC Twente and Sampdoria, scoring 48 goals in 220 official appearances, as per Transfermarkt.

He also represented Montenegro 11 times, netting one goal.

Mosimane will make his official sideline debut for Abha on Thursday when they will Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League.

Abha currently sit in 17th place, five points from safety, with Mosimane brought in on a short-term deal to prevent the club from relegation.
