Wydad Athletic Club coach Rulani Mokwena has insisted his minimum goal is to qualify for the CAF Champions League.
The South African tactician has had a bumpy start in Morocco, but has found some consistency and Friday night’s win saw them climb into second place on the log.
However, the gap to RS Berkane is seven points and the leaders also still have a game in hand, which might be a tough task to bridge, with Mokwena admitting the main target is the CAFCL qualification.
“I’m watching the Champions League and I’m so upset we’re not in the Champions League,” he told Moroccan media.
“We should be playing Champions League.
“I said to the players ‘I want to see that you want to play Champions League. It’s not enough for me as a coach to want to play Champions League, you must want it also.’
“I was happy with today’s performance because it shows me they also want to do that.

“The bare minimum now is to qualify for Champions League. And then hopefully we’re still in and around the running. Berkane started very strong, they know how to win games even when they don’t play well.”
