Seoposenwe Nets Back-To-Back Goals In Mexico

Banyana Banyana star Jermaine Seoposenwe scored the only goal as Rayadas Monterrey beat Pumas 3-0 on aggregate to advance to the semi-final of the Clausura Playoffs.

Seaposenwe, 30, scored the only goal in the second leg of the quarter-final tie against Pumas.

Coming to this game Rayadas held a 2-0 advantage with Seoposenwe and Valeria Del Campo on the scoresheet in the first leg.

A second-half header from Seoposenwe made it 3-0 on aggregate and sealed the win for Monterrey to book them a place in the semi-finals.

Monterrey will want to go to the final, especially after losing in the semis last season to a team they might face again in Pachuca.

In the past three season, Monterrey has been struggling to go pass the semi-final stage. In 2021, they lost 6-3 on aggregate to Tigres UANL, while in 2022 and 2023 they lost to Pachuca.

Tigres, the club of Seoposenwe’s Banyana teammate Thembi Kgatlana are also in the semi-finals after beating FC Juarez 2-1 on aggregate.
