Four SA Members Of Manqoba’s Technical Team Confirmed

Young Africans SC have confirmed the arrival of four South African members to Manqoba Mngqithi’s technical team at the Tanzanian giants.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows coach joined Yanga in the beginning of the month, in what is his first stint abroad.

Mngqithi will be tasked with adding more silverware to Yanga’s illustrious trophy cabinet. after replacing Pedro Gonçalves following the Portuguese coach’s departure at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Young Africans still won the league, with two points ahead of Steve Barker’s Simba SC, but the latter won both domestic cups – the CRDB Bank Federation Cup and the Muungano Cup.

Mngqithi, meanwhile guided Arrows back into the Top Eight for the first time since 2020/21, which attracted interested from the Tanzanian giants.

At Yanga, he will also be tasked to progress further in the CAF Champions League, after they failed to progress from the group stages in their past two seasons.

He has now brought in help from Mzansi, with former Richards Bay and Arrows assistant Pitso Dladla joining as assistant, as previously reported by iDiski Times.

Meanwhile, Kagisho Dikgacoi joins as set-piece coach, reuniting with Mngqithi after their work together at Arrows, with Yardaan Valodia – former Head of Analysis and Performance Analyst at Abafana Bes’thende, also joining as Performance Analyst.

Last but not last, Greg Etafia has joined the club as Goalkeeper Coach after his exit from TS Galaxy, as also first reported by this publication.
