Maswanganyi left Pirates after starting the 2026/27 with a goal and an assist in his first four matches.
Overall, he netted 28 times and set up 21 more in 120 appearances across three campaigns for the Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, Pirates have since re-signed Mohau Nkota on loan to help cover the exits of Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng, who had 34 goal involvements between them last season.
