Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies returned to domestic action with a 1-0 win over Stellenbosch Ladies while the University of the Western Cape and AmaTuks also picked up major wins in this past weekend’s Hollywoodbets Super League ties.
Noxolo Cesane scored the only goal of the game as Sundowns maintained top spot in the Super Era stream with 18 points in six matches, opening a five-point gap at the top. Cesane also remained the current top goal scorer with six goals. Meanwhile, the new side are at the bottom of the pool with no point after seven games.
Siyamthanda Qashane netted a hattrick as University of Pretoria handed TS Galaxy Queens their second defeat of the season in the same stream. Tuks are third on the log equal on 13 with the Rockets in second spot both from seven outings.
Meanwhile, festival hosts UWC thrashed Richmond United 3-0 to also close in on the top three in the division. Aaliyah Jacobs, Lindokuhle Gladile and Tiffany Kortjie were on target for the Blues, and they stayed in fourth position with 13 points. Richmond are third from bottom in the group with seven points from as many games.
In the Super Rise stream, JVW FC maintained top spot with 17 points following a 2-1 win over Tshwane University of Technology. Nompumelelo Nyandeni and Shannon Macomo scored for the Blue Diamonds while Sibongile Twala got the consolation for TUT who remained in third place on the log with 11 points.
City Lads’ poor form continued as they lost 2-0 to University of Fort Hare and stayed at the foot of the table in the stream. This was their seventh loss in seventh rounds where they haven’t even scored a goal and conceded 16 goals. Fort Hare are number four in the division with 10 points also from seven games.
