Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker is hopeful they will be able to retain three of their in-demand talents before the window closes.
Bafana Bafana duo Jayden Adams and Fawaaz Basadien have attracted interest from the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs in the current window, while Ismael Toure was subject of interest from Orlando Pirates, Chiefs, SuperSport United and several clubs in North Africa.

While Barker previously stated the Ivorian was keen on a dream move to Europe, he is hoping the towering centre-back, Basadien and Adams, who form part of their core group will be with them when the transfer window closes on 20 September 2024.
“I have to be confident [in keeping Basadien and Toure], we have lost some key players as it is but at the same time we have also signed some really good, key players, so I think it will balance in a way, players leaving and coming,” Barker said when asked by iDiski Times if he’s confident in swaying off interest in their two defensive stalwarts.
“I don’t think at this stage we can afford to lose any more key players, of which Toure, Basadien and [Jayden] Adams are key players, so we believe now we’re happy with what we’ve done in this window.
“It’s now about keeping our players that’s key and maybe one or two additions before the window closes.”
Stellenbosch secured their place in the MTN8 final this past weekend after an impressive 2-0 aggregate win over league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
