Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller has confirmed Percy Tau’s transfer to “one of the Qatari teams”.
Tau, 30, joined the Egyptian giants in August 2021 under Pitso Mosimane and has since won almost every trophy on offer.
However, there were constant reports over clashes between the former CAF Interclub Player of the Year and his coach.
“The player is no longer in the team’s ranks. He has moved to one of the Qatari teams,” he stated, speaking ahead of his side’s CAF Champions League tie at Stade d’Abidjan.
This season, Tau made 15 appearances for Al Ahly, scoring three – all of them coming in the CAF Champions League.
Tau is expected to join Qatar SC, where he is expected to be unveiled shortly and will continue his illustrious career.
Overall, Tau made 126 appearances for Al Ahly, scoring 30 goals and setting up 4 more.
