Casric Part Ways With Former Pirates & Chiefs Stars

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars have parted ways with former Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus and former Kaizer Chiefs defender Yagan Sasman.

Erasmus, 35, scored the most crucial goal for Stars in the last game of the league last season, which secured them a place in the promotional playoffs.

But Stars have now released 13 players; namely Lebohang Lesako, Ofentse Tiholoe, Malesela Chokoe, Medupi Thokolo, Lesego Sebetlela, Abbey Seseane, Atusaye Nyondo, Oageng Phiri, Katleho Molaba, Marc Anderson, Augustine Mahlanoko, including Erasmus and Sasman.

Stars finished in third place last season and qualified for PSL promotional playoffs where they competed with Orbit College and Cape Town City. After failing to gain promotion via playoffs, they decided to do a major squad revamp and release the above players.

They started the season on a high note after beating Black Leopards by 3-0 away from home and find themselves top of the MFC league table.
