Chiefs Coach Gives Update On Paper Work Of New Signings

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has confirmed that new signings Flavio Silva and Nkanyiso Shinga have also received their paper work and are available for selection.

Amakhosi have had a perfect start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign, collecting three wins against Stellenbosch FC, Polokwane City and Richards Bay.

However, they’ve done so without Shinga, Silva as well as Ethan Chislett – with Youssef confirming the first two finally received their paper work, while Chislett, who was already available for selection has been booked off sick.

“Shinga is ready, he received his card to play but he still has some work to do with our fitness coach, Majdi [Safi],” he said on Tuesday.

“Silva, received yesterday his card [but] it was late for us. We had already decided with the plan of the game.

“Ethan was sick last week, so he didn’t make any training session. Hence he is not with us, but he is eligible to play.”

Chiefs, who also signed Asanele Velebayo, Etiosa Ighodaro and Luke Baartman, currently sit in second place on the log, level on points with Sekhukhune United.

They return to action next week Wednesday when they will host reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium.
