Chivaviro Set To Leave Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro looks set to leave the club next month with his contract set to expire.

Chivaviro, 32, arrived at Chiefs in a lucrative switch from Marumo Gallants in July 2023 after plundering 17 goals in 30 games, where he led their charge to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

He departed at the end of that season alongside several of the club’s key performers after their relegation from the top-flight, with much fanfare surrounding his arrival at Amakhosi.

His first season he netted four goals in 20 league games in a campaign that saw Chiefs finish a record low 10th spot but upon the arrival of Nasreddine Nabi at the club, there was optimism he could reignite his scoring form, having been an admirer of the striker during his time at Young Africans.

There was a promising start to the 2024/25 season as he netted five goals by January but his fortunes dramatically changed and he fell out of favour within the technical team, being left out of their squad in their last eight games.

iDiski Times can confirm there’s been no talk of activating his one-year option and he’s likely to become a free agent by the end of next month, leaving the door open for potential suitors.

Overall, he’s scored nine goals with one assist in 45 games for Amakhosi since his arrival from Marumo Gallants.
