Cape Town City have set their sights on Namibian international Aprocius Petrus after his impressive AFCON performances, iDiskiTimes can confirm.
Petrus, 24, recently represented Namibia in the recent African Cup Of Nations that was held in Ivory Coast.
The versatile player is currently on the books of Kosovo side KF Liria, where he made 13 appearances this season so far, scoring once and assisting on two occasions in the Albi Mall Superliga.
This publication understands that Petrus already arrived in South Africa last week and started training with the side under the watchful eye of coach Eric Tinkler.
The left-footer can play as a left-back as well as a defensive midfielder, as he did for the Brave Warriors in the AFCON, helping them to reach Round of 16 for the first time in their history.
Overall, Petrus has made 24 appearances for Namibia, including four at the 2023 AFCON, featuring 90 minutes in all of them.
City recently agreed a deal in principle with Prins Tjiueza but the move didn’t materialise after he got injured in the AFCON Round of 16 clash against Angola.
