Tanzanian giants Simba SC continues to strengthen their team and have beaten bitter rivals Young Africans to the signature of Keletso Makgalwa from Sekhukhune United.
Steve Barker’s side are looking to improve their squad after finishing just two points behind Young Africans and missing out on the league title despite going unbeaten since Barker took over in December 2025.
It has now been five seasons without winning the NBC Premier League, which will be Barker’s big target for 2026/27 after lifting the two domestic cups this past season.
Young Africans tried to snatch Makgalwa under Simba’s nose in the last minute of the deal after Manqoba Mngqithi took over but their move collapsed.
Instead, Barker’s side finally secured Makgalwa for an undisclosed transfer fee from Babina Noko. The 29-year-old penned down a two-year deal with the Tanzanian giants, sources have told iDiski Times.
This is the second player from the Betway Premiership to join Simba in this transfer window after former Stellenbosch FC midfielder Ibrahim Jabaar reunited with Barker.
Makgalwa also joins Rushine De Reuck at the club, while Neo Maema is set to return to Mamelodi Sundowns as his loan spell expired.
