Edmilson Dove has shared a farewell message after his exit from Kaizer Chiefs upon the expiry of his contract which was confirmed by the club.
Dove, 30, has become the fourth player the club has parted with since the end of the 2024/25 campaign after Sabelo Radebe and Ranga Chivaviro, while Njabulo Blom returned to his mother club St. Louis City.
Many were surprised by Amakhosi’s decision to not extend Dove’s contract, but the player has now thanked the club’s leadership, fans and technical team.
“Dear DR KAIZER MOTAUNG, Thank you Mr Chairman for allowing me and my family to be part of the Amakhosi family, for allowing me to fulfil a childhood dream. It’s been a crazy ride of which I have grown not only as a player, but as well as a human being. We had our ups and downs, we have shed some tears along the way but we also had joyful moments which I will cherish forever,” he wrote on Instagram.
“To every coach, team mate, kit manager, gardener, kitchen staff and everyone associated to the club that I have had the opportunity of working with, here goes my heartfelt appreciation and Gratitude. Each and everyday we got to spend together was valuable. The Bond Created is unbreakable.
